Kudos to the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) for ensuring that the 11-member National Table Tennis Squad do not get to play at the Pro Tour German Open in Berlin. A report in the Times of India reveals that the federation failed to submit documents to the German Embassy in good time as a result of which player visas could not be prepared. And as one would expect from a responsible spokesperson, TTFI secretary general MC Chowhan has swept the blame under the carpet and pointed the media’s attention towards “the high-handedness of the German Embassy”. Unfortunately, Mr. Chowhan, the German Embassy does not work like the super-efficient Indian Government machinery.
