I have studied a case of Olympics Games in which a woman's 100 m sprint was won by an athlete* with a world record.After her death in an accident (so many years after the games held),in the postmartam report it was revealed that she was a MALE..
So there is no harm in tests, to give medals in right hands.

These are my personel views, not to harm someones sentiments.
